Headlined by Hero Fiennes Tiffin, best known for the After film franchise, Young Sherlock presents a bold and modern take on the early life of Sherlock Holmes. Directed by filmmaker Guy Ritchie, the series promises a fast-paced mix of action, mystery, and drama, while tracing the origin story of one of fiction’s most famous detectives.
Set against the backdrop of Victorian England, the story introduces a younger, rebellious version of Sherlock Holmes who is still discovering his sharp instincts and moral compass. His life takes a sudden turn when he crosses paths with James Moriarty. What begins as a tense encounter soon pulls Sherlock into his very first murder case, one that puts his freedom at risk. As the investigation deepens, the plot expands into a dangerous conspiracy that stretches beyond borders, eventually leading to a life-changing confrontation.
The show explores Sherlock’s early behaviour, his impulsive decisions, and the moments that shape him into the master detective the world later comes to admire. Along with London, the narrative also travels to international locations, adding scale and energy to the storytelling.
Young Sherlock boasts a strong supporting cast, including Dónal Finn, Zine Tseng, Joseph Fiennes, Natascha McElhone, Max Irons, and Colin Firth. Guy Ritchie has directed the first two episodes and also serves as an executive producer.
