Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel of Hilton proudly introduces William Fisher as the newly appointed General Manager. With more than 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Fisher will guide one of Rome’s most iconic addresses into its next chapter, combining operational excellence with a commitment to sustainability and elevated guest experiences.
Fisher joins Rome Cavalieri following his tenure as General Manager of the Hilton London Metropole, one of Europe’s largest conference and leisure hotels, where he led the successful refurbishment of the hotel’s public spaces.
With a longstanding international career spanning Europe and Asia, Fisher has held senior leadership roles across a diverse portfolio of flagship and luxury hotels within leading hospitality brands including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, The Ritz-Carlton and Orient Express. His early career saw rapid growth in China, including serving as acting General Manager at Hilton Dali Resort & Spa and leading the opening of Hilton Chengdu in 2015. He later served as Area General Manager, overseeing operations in Szechuan followed by the greater Shanghai area—regions marked by dynamic markets and high guest expectations. His leadership in these destinations deepened his expertise in luxury positioning, team development, and high-impact hotel transformation projects.
Known for his hands-on, people-focused leadership style, Fisher prioritises building strong, empowered teams and delivering exceptional guest experiences rooted in authenticity, warmth, and operational precision. He is equally committed to sustainability and innovation, championing initiatives that balance environmental responsibility with the evolving needs of modern luxury travellers.
A graduate of Loyola University New Orleans, Fisher brings not only global management expertise but also a deep appreciation for cultural nuance and guest-centric innovation – qualities that align perfectly with the Waldorf Astoria brand’s legacy of refined luxury. As he assumes his new role, Fisher is poised to guide Rome Cavalieri into an exciting new era, strengthening its iconic identity while introducing a refreshed vision crafted for the next generation of international travellers.
