Who got engaged in the pods, who went on a solo trip

This article contains spoilers about Love Is Blind season 10, episodes 1-6.

There’s more love than ever on the new season of Love Is Blind. Or at least, there are more engaged couples than any season we’ve seen before.

Netflix’s reality dating experiment returned with an all-new cast of singles — this time from host Nick Lachey’s home state of Ohio — on Wednesday. The first batch of episodes delivered the most engagements yet, with seven couples going the distance.

And in a shocking twist, the show revealed in episode 5 that while all seven couples earned the post-pod vacation, only six went to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The seventh couple went on a trip by themselves to Malibu, Calif.

So which cast members ended up together in Cabo, and who was sent off on a different trip? Here are all of the season 10 couples who put a ring on it and packed their bags for the next stage of the show.

The first couple who got engaged is also the odd couple out when it came to the post-pod trip. Vic and Christine’s love story played out pretty quickly and early, with their full relationship in the pods documented in the premiere.

In fact, their entire pod experience was mostly shown in a montage of flashbacks right before their in-person reveal took place, with Vic calling her a “dream come true.” Their potential for drama seemed very low after the first six episodes, especially since they’re kept separate from the rest of the pod squad, which was partying in Cabo while they were on their own at Calamigos Ranch for what looked like a very relaxing and romantic trip documented only in their personal selfie videos.

Stay tuned for Entertainment Weekly‘s exclusive interview with Love Is Blind creator Chris Coelen, who reveals why Vic and Christine were sent on a different trip, without any producers.

Jordan and Amber

Amber and Jordan were definitely more of a slow burn. Jordan came into the show saying that anyone having a child was a dealbreaker for him. But despite Amber having a seven-year-old daughter, they fell in love.

Jordan sealed the deal by baking cookies for Amber, which she shared with all the other women on the show. Their engagement and in-person reveal went off without a hitch, and they enjoyed their time together in Mexico, appearing extremely in love in front of the other couples and even more so when they’re on their own.

Alex and Ashley

In the pods, Ashley and Alex fell in love with each other pretty much without conflict. They bonded over being clumsy, loving the book The Alchemist, and Ashley was touched by Alex sharing his painful past of knee surgeries that cut his promising professional soccer career short.

But there’s trouble in paradise looming for this couple. After their engagement, Alex began showing concerning signs in Mexico. He had a conversation with Brittany that bordered on inappropriate, saying that he would normally go for women who looked like her in the real world rather than his fiancée. He told Brittany that Ashley isn’t his usual type since she’s blonde. Brittany later told cameras that she’s “nervous” for Ashley, because Alex has “ruthlessness” in him.

Jessica and Chris

Here’s where it got complicated in the pods, because there was a love square … or, actually, a love pentagon. Let’s start with Jessica and Chris.

In the pods, Jessica was dating both Chris and Connor, while Chris was also in a love triangle with Connor over Bri (a.k.a. “Breezy”). After Bri chose Connor, she broke up with Chris, who claimed he was also going to do the same.

After the breakup, Chris decided to focus on Jess, and they got engaged. In Mexico, they seemed happy together, while Bri was upset that her conversations with her pod exes were too “surface level,” since they’re all partying together like they’re not exes. Bri told Connor she still needs to have a “part two” conversation with Chris, so this story isn’t over yet.

Bri and Connor

Meanwhile, Bri and Connor seemed to be the strongest couple to come out of the love pentagon, until Bri couldn’t get over how no one was having deep conversations during the pod reunion parties (and Connor’s birthday) in Mexico.

In the pods, Connor was deciding between Bri, Emma, and Jess, while Bri was deciding between Connor and Chris. Connor initially called Emma his No. 1 choice until a pivotal date with Bri, who felt their relationship accelerate at the same time, prompting her to end things with Chris. Connor also ended things with Emma after telling her about his strong connection with Bri.

After Connor and Bri got engaged, he was nervous for the in-person reveal, feeling that he’s just “a standard dude” who doesn’t stand out. But despite his sweaty hands, Bri couldn’t be happier with her new fiancé. In fact, her only issue was how all the exes were having too much fun together in Mexico and weren’t talking about how they all dated each other.

When Bri kept complaining to Connor about how Chris was acting like he didn’t know things she didn’t tell anyone else, Connor remarked he told Bri the most out of all the women, so he didn’t feel the same about his exes on the trip. Still frustrated, Bri said that she needs a “part two” conversation with Chris.

At the next pod party on the trip, Bri and Chris have their “part two” chat, but don’t really say anything noteworthy. Watching from afar, Connor felt insecure so he also talked with his ex, Emma. Their conversation wasn’t noteworthy either. Later, Connor told Bri he “didn’t love” her getting so worked up about an ex, but she thanked him for his patience, and all seemed okay.

Emma and Mike

The final side of this love pentagon is Emma and Mike. Emma was open throughout most of her dates about her scars from multiple surgeries to remove pre-cancerous birth marks from all over her body, all before she was nine years old. After feeling “invalidated” and “gaslit” from a particularly intense and uncomfortable date, Emma went on to find everything she needed in her next dates with her two favorite men: Mike and Connor.

As she got to know both of them more, she opened up about her past, sharing that she was left at a train station as a baby and was adopted when she was three. Connor emerged as her No. 1 pick, and he said that Emma was his No. 1 choice as well. However, after an emotionally promising date with Bri, he struggled with deciding who to pursue. Emma essentially forced Connor to end things with her because she could tell his heart was with Bri.

Instead of leaving, Emma decided to give her No. 2 choice, Mike, another shot. She went on another date with him, was honest about what happened with Connor, and Mike was already talking about getting her a ring, so it clearly didn’t bother him.

As Emma and Mike fell in love, they discovered their biggest relationship obstacle, in that he wants to have kids and she’s unsure. Because she’s adopted, she doesn’t know what her family medical history is, and she’s nervous about her own difficult past with her pre-cancerous birth marks and what she could possible pass down to her children. Mike suggested they could do gene testing together to figure that out, and they could also adopt. He wasn’t ready to give up on their relationship over this issue, so they get engaged without coming to a decision on children.

And despite Emma’s insecurities about her scars or being Asian, Mike couldn’t be happier during their in-person reveal. In fact, they both seemed happy. But the issue of children is still looming.

Brittany and Devonta

The final couple is Brittany and Devonta, who dealt with a death in the family during the pods. Devonta revealed to Brittany on an early date that he was pulled by production to let him know that his grandpa passed away. He told her that he might leave the show to be with family, but if he stayed, it would be for the right reasons. After he had phone calls with his brother and grandma, who told him that staying on the show would be what his grandpa would have wanted for him, he decided to stay.

At first, it seemed to be the right decision. Devonta and Brittany continued to date, and ultimately got engaged. Brittany, who already bought a wedding dress before coming onto the show, joked about showing up to the reunion with a baby — despite revealing that Devonta is not a person she would normally have gone after in a bar. Devonta admitted he’s never dated a woman of color before, and was surprised that Brittany isn’t white. But, they promised, “babies are on the way!”

But in order to have babies, there needs to be sex. And in Mexico, Brittany discovered that they were the only couple not having sex. She also started to feel disconnected from Devonta, because he left her alone every morning after he woke up, so she would wake up alone in bed and have to search for him. She also said she initiated all their kisses, and even offered to have sex with him.

But the problem persisted. In the cliffhanger at the end of the episodes, Brittany left Devonta, walking out of their room in tears because she didn’t feel like they were engaged. She said they were just “hanging out,” and he hadn’t been trying to meet her needs of physical touch. Devonta said he just had a lot on his mind with his grandpa’s death, but Brittany still walked out, saying that if they’re about to be married, they should want to be in each other’s space and not want space from each other already.
