What to watch on Day 5 at the Winter Olympics: Jordan Stolz, Chloe Kim, ice dance

The Athletic has live coverage of the 2026 Winter Olympics.

Four years ago, Jordan Stolz was a 17-year-old upstart who finished 13th in the 500-meter and 14th in the 1,000-meter speedskating events in Beijing. Now he’s the best in the world at 21, with World Cup titles in the 500, 1,000, and 1,500. He’s the gold medal favorite in all three events, starting with the 1,000 on Wednesday.

Also in action is Chloe Kim, who’ll test out her injured shoulder in the women’s halfpipe qualification. She’s the two-time defending Olympic champion in the event.

Let’s take a look at everything to watch today.
