Singh ensured that he won hearts with his rocking act.

At Filmibeat, we love interacting with artists who are passionate about their craft, and how could we not talk to Amitt. In an exclusive conversation with Filmibeat Chief Copy Editor Abhishek Ranjit, Amitt K. Singh opened up on his role in Vadh 2, playing Ateet Singh, and shared the meaning of success for him.

Here are excerpts from the interview-

What was your first reaction when you were offered the role of Ateet Singh in Vadh 2? Was there a particular aspect of the character or script that instantly stayed with you?

• My first reaction was a quiet sense of recognition rather than instant celebration. The script had a certain weight, restrained, but it stayed with me. Ateet Singh isn’t a conventional hero, he operates in morally complex spaces where every decision carries a cost. What drew me in most was how deeply the job affects him. He doesn’t just solve cases he absorbs them, carries their emotional residue, and lives with their consequences. That inner conflict, the balance between duty, conscience, and personal toll, made the character feel human, layered, and compelling to step into.

Ateet operates in morally complex grey zones, where truth and justice don’t always align. How did stepping into such a layered character challenge you as an actor?

• Playing Ateet meant embracing moral uncertainty and resisting the urge to judge him. The challenge was to stay true to his perspective, even when his choices felt uncomfortable. It pushed me to work with subtlety, letting emotion live in silence and subtext, and finding internal tension without over-expressing it.

You’ve portrayed a variety of characters across different projects. How do you approach preparing for intense, emotionally demanding roles versus more straightforward ones?

• I adapt my process based on the emotional weight of the role. For layered characters, I focus on their inner life, fears, contradictions, and emotional history. For simpler roles, it’s more about rhythm, presence, and serving the story. But no matter the scale, my core approach stays the same, staying honest, grounded, and truthful in the moment.

As an actor, how do you personally define success today? Is it the scale of the project, the impact of the role, or the audience’s response?

• For me, success today is less about scale and more about impact. It’s about whether a role feels honest, stays with the audience, and pushes me to grow as an actor. If the work resonates and feels truthful, that matters more than numbers or visibility.

Vadh 2 delves into the psychological and emotional cost of seeking justice. Did playing Ateet Singh change the way you view authority, morality, or real-life law enforcement?

• Playing Ateet made me more aware of how layered and imperfect justice really is. It reinforced that authority and morality often exist in grey zones, especially in real-life law enforcement. The role deepened my understanding of the human pressure behind power and decisions.

Looking ahead, what kind of stories or characters are you most excited to explore next, and how does Vadh 2 fit into that journey for you?

• I’m most excited by emotionally complex, morally layered characters that feel real and leave an impact. Vadh 2 fits perfectly into that path, Ateet Singh represents the kind of psychologically rich roles I want to continue exploring.
