Turkish Airlines has rejoined AIRE Executive Board | News



Taking part in the collaborative efforts of the international aviation sector in various levels, Turkish Airlines continues its robust presence in the Airlines International Representation in Europe (AIRE), an airline organisation headquartered in Brussels that represents its member airlines in interactions with European legislative and executive institutions. Through the collaborative effort put forth by members airlines, AIRE is actively engaged in numerous areas of the aviation industry, particularly in sustainability, operational efficiency and passenger rights.

In line with this mission, Dr. Özlem Özyön, Turkish Airlines SVP International Relations and Alliances, has been elected Vice President of AIRE, further strengthening the flag carrier’s role within the European aviation ecosystem.

With more than 25 years of professional experience in the aviation sector, Özlem Özyön, in her new role as Vice President of AIRE, will contribute to the organisation’s governance and institutional development, while also representing the interests of the aviation sector in engagements with the institutions of the European Union and enhancing the dialogue between airlines and regulatory bodies.

Commenting on her appointment, Turkish Airlines SVP International Relations and Alliances Özlem Özyön stated: “I am delighted to take on the role of Vice President of AIRE at a time when close collaboration between regulatory authorities and airlines is more crucial than ever. This responsibility offers an important opportunity to foster constructive dialogue, shape progressive policies, and amplify the voice of airlines within the regulatory landscape.”

This appointment reinforces Turkish Airlines’ position as an active and influential stakeholder within both the European and global aviation community, underlining the airline’s continued commitment to constructive engagement and collaboration.
