THE PRACTICAL GUIDE TO LOVE OVERVIEW: PLOT AND CAST DETAILS; HERE’S WHAT TO EXPECT
Inspired by Tari’s hit webtoon Efficient Dating for Singles, The Practical Guide To Love brings a refreshing take on modern romance and blind dates. The story revolves around Lee Uiyeong, played by Han Ji Min, a capable and admired senior staff member in the Purchasing Team at The Hills Seoul Hotel. At work, she is known as the “ace” employee – sharp, responsible, and dependable. But when it comes to her personal life, especially love, things are not as smooth.
Having crossed 30 without ever being in a serious relationship, Uiyeong begins to question her long-held belief in waiting for an organic, fate-driven romance. Realizing that love may not magically appear, she decides to step into the world of blind dates. What follows is a journey filled with awkward meetings, unexpected feelings, and self-discovery.
Her dating life takes an interesting turn when she meets two very different men. The first is Song Taeseop, portrayed by Park Sung Hoon. Taeseop runs a woodworking studio called Studio Home. He may appear gentle and calm, but beneath that soft exterior lies strong determination.
Having spent his twenties building his business from scratch, he enters his thirties deeply focused on work. However, everything changes when he meets Uiyeong on a blind date. It is love at first sight for him, and once Taeseop decides on something, he gives it his full attention – including winning Uiyeong’s heart.
On the other hand is Shin Jisu, played by Lee Ki Taek, a theatre actor and part-timer who values freedom above all else. Unlike Taeseop’s stable and structured life, Jisu prefers living spontaneously. He has even turned down promising acting offers to protect his independence. But meeting Uiyeong shakes his certainty. During their blind date, he feels a powerful attraction that forces him to rethink his beliefs about relationships and commitment.
As Uiyeong navigates her emotions, viewers are left wondering which path she will choose – the steady devotion of Taeseop or the unpredictable charm of Jisu.
Alongside the lead trio, the series also features Jung Hye Sung, Kim So Hye, Kim Jung Young, Lee Mi Do, Park Jung Pyo, Kim Won Hae, Jo Bok Rae, and Oh Min Ae. Special appearances by Yoon Park, Yuk Jun Seo, and Lee Chang Ho add further excitement.
Notably, the drama marks Han Ji Min’s first K-drama collaboration with both Park Sung Hoon and Lee Ki Taek, making it an even more anticipated romantic watch.
