‘The Madison’ Release Date, Michelle Pfeiffer Photos in ‘Yellowstone’ Spinoff

The Madison is getting ready to open up its barn doors.

The next series in Taylor Sheridan‘s Yellowstone-verse, starring Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, now has a premiere date — Saturday, March 14 — along with first-look photos (below) and a more detailed description about what has so far been a closely guarded series in the ever-expanding Dutton universe.

The Madison has been described as a “heartfelt study of grief and human connection” and now also a “profound love story channeled through a deeply personal family drama about resilience and transformation.”

The the six-episode first season will introduce the Clyburn family; it’s not yet know how or if they are connected the Duttons.

Paramount+ also calls the Yellowstone spinoff Sheridan’s “most intimate work to date” and says that the present-day series will unfold “across two distinct worlds — the beautiful landscape of Montana and the vibrant energy of Manhattan — as it examines the ties that bind families together.”

The new series follows a New York City family, the Clyburns, in the Madison River valley of central Montana, led by the matriarch played by Pfeiffer.

Along with Russell, the star-studded cast includes Beau Garrett, Elle Chapman, Patrick J. Adams, Amiah Miller, Alaina Pollack, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Danielle Vasinova and Matthew Fox.

Even though the flagship Yellowstone series has galloped off into the sunset, the franchise remains very much alive and kicking. The Madison joins two other present-day continuations of Yellowstone proper — CBS’ Marshals, starring Luke Grimes reprising his role as Kayce Dutton, and Paramount+’s Dutton Ranch (working title), which sees Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser reprising Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler, respectively.

The spinoffs join previous prequel series 1883 and 1923, the latter which wrapped its second and likely final season last year. The prequel saga next jumps to the forthcoming series 1944.

Meanwhile, Sheridan is getting ready to hang up his spurs at Paramount. The prolific writer and director will head to NBCUniversal with a film deal that will go into effect later this year. Sheridan’s TV deal with Paramount is not up until the end of 2028.

The Madison is produced by Paramount Television Studios, 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions. Executive producers are Sheridan, David C. Glasser, John Linson, Art Linson, Ron Burkle, David Hutkin, Bob Yari, Christina Voros, Michael Friedman, Pfeiffer, Russell and Keith Cox.
