‘The Lowdown’ Renewed for Season 2 at FX and Hulu

The Lowdown” has been renewed for Season 2 at FX and Hulu.

Production on the Western dramedy starring Ethan Hawke will begin in Tulsa this spring.

Created by “Reservation Dogs” boss Sterlin Harjo, “The Lowdown” follows citizen journalist and self-proclaimed “truthstorian” Lee Raybon, whose exposé about a powerful family pulls him into a local conspiracy. The first season also starred Keith David and featured guest players Kyle MacLachlan, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Tim Blake Nelson, Ryan Kiera Armstrong, Michael “Killer Mike” Render, Kaniehtiio Horn, Tracy Letts, Peter Dinklage and Graham Greene.

Harjo executive produces “The Lowdown” alongside Garrett Basch, Hawke, Ryan Hawke and Duffy Boudreau. It’s produced by FX Productions, with all episodes available to stream on Hulu.

Variety chief TV critic Alison Herman loved the series, calling it a “superlative crime yarn” and “a joyful, ragtag survey of society’s frayed edges.”
