The Kerala Story 2 Release In Trouble; Kerala High Court Halts The Film: The Kamakhya Narayan Singh directorial, which was expected to be released on February 27, 2026, is now facing legal trouble. As per the reports, the Kerala High Court has now halted the release of The Kerala Story 2, for stating the state in a wrong light and spreading misinformation.

The Kerala High Court has now halted the release of The Kerala Story 2, after the panel headed by Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas favoured the lawsuit against the film. The High Court observed that the concerns raised by the petitioner seems genuine, and has instructed the producers of the film to halt the release of the film, and its rights.

“Do not release the rights for The Kerala Story 2 movie tomorrow. Wait for the hearing to conclude and for the court to decide on the the petitions,” says the judgement, according to the latest reports by India Today. The Kerala High Court observed that the teaser and trailer of the film have the “full potential” to cause communal disharmony.

In the judgement, the Kerala High Court has also criticized the Censor Board Of Film Certification (CBFC), for the classification granted for the film. Judge Bechu Kurian Thomas observed that the censor board has not “applied mind” while clearing The Kerala Story 2 for release. The court also instructed the board to take the petition, filed by a Kerala citizen named Sreedev Namboothiri, into consideration.
