Through its partnership with Google’s 100 Zeros production arm, Range Media Partners has optioned Jen Marie Wiggins’ 2024 novel “The Good Bride.” The book is now in the works to be adapted for television. Station 26 is also a partner on the project.
The book’s official synopsis reads, “One year after a devastating hurricane, lavish wedding plans unearth secrets in a struggling coastal town. As the carefully curated weekend — built on pomp and social-media polish — unravels, a gunshot shatters the rehearsal and the celebration spirals into a twisty exploration of messy family ties, modern media and the lies we tell the world.”
“The Good Bride” is Wiggins’ debut novel and was published by Crooked Lane Books. Previously, Wiggins published the illustrated gift book “Married AF: A Funny Marriage Guide for the Newlywed or Bride” via Sourcebooks in 2022. Her writing has also been featured in Southern Coastal Weddings, Savannah Magazine, Literary Mama and CrimeReads.
The television adaptation of “The Good Bride” will be executive produced by Wiggins; Station26’s Fred Berger, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Justin Levy; Range’s Rachel Douglas; Range and 100 Zeros’ Penny Lin; and Natalie Burkardt.
“Jen Marie Wiggins just hit it out of the ballpark with her debut novel,” Douglas and Levy said in a statement. “It has something for everyone: part family drama, part whodunnit, part crime thriller and a dash of romance. Not to mention wealth, secrets, suspense and more! Needless to say, we’re incredibly excited to bring ’The Good Bride’ to the small screen.”
The deal for the adaptation of “The Good Bride” was brokered by Untitled Entertainment, Lyons & Salky Law and Ashley Lopez via Waxman Literary Books.
