The gross collection from the domestic box office reportedly stands at ₹3.1 crore.
As expected, Sivakumar Murugesan’s rural comedy drama has also made an strong opening at the overseas box office. Thaai Kizhavi reportedly collected over ₹1.1 crore from the overseas box office, on its Day 1 at the theatres. Thus, the total worldwide gross collection of the movie, which is produced by Sivakartikeyan, has now crossed the ₹4.2 crore mark.

The Sivakumar Murugesan directorial revolves around Pavunuthayi, a fiercely independent, intimidating elderly woman from a rural village, who is known for her tough, ruthless, and blunt nature. She behaves this way, especially of his profession as a moneylender, and her strict enforcement of dues makes her feared by the locals. However, when she falls critically ill, her estranged sons finally comeback home, only to find the rumoured fortune she has been hiding.
Radhika Sarathkumar plays the role of Pavunuthayi aka Thaai Kizhavi in the movie, which stars Singam Puli, Arul Doss, Bala Saravanan, Munishkanth, Ilavarasu, George Maryan, Muthukumar, Raichal Rabecca and others in the supporting roles.
