Tamil And Telugu Movie Releases This Week: With the end of January approaching, theatres across Tamil Nadu and Telugu-speaking regions are preparing for a varied set of releases scheduled for Thursday, January 30. This week’s line-up includes psychological drama, thrillers, family stories and a comedy-drama, offering a mix of genres across languages.

Tamil Movie Releases

Among the Tamil releases, Lockdown arrives as a psychological drama set against the backdrop of a nationwide shutdown. Directed by AR Jeeva, the film stars Anupama Parameswaran as Anita, who is confined to her home during the lockdown as her life is thrown into uncertainty and she is forced to deal with an unexpected situation. Backed by Lyca Productions and presented by Subaskaran, the film features an ensemble cast including Charlie, Livingston and Nirosha, with music composed by N.R. Raghunanthan and Siddharth Vipin.

Also releasing on the same day is Karuppu Pulsar, an action fantasy thriller directed by Murali Krishan. The film stars Attakathi Dinesh in a prominent role and blends action with fantasy elements.

Another Tamil title opening on January 30 is Thiraivi, a mystery thriller directed by Karthi Dakshinamoorthy. The film revolves around a thief who becomes entangled in a crime after interrupting a woman’s suicide attempt. The situation escalates as he is forced into committing a murder, eventually uncovering the involvement of the woman and her lover. Munishkanth, Ashok, Ashna Zaveri and Nizhalgal Ravi appear in key roles.

Completing the Tamil slate is Mellisai, a family drama written and directed by Dhirav. The film follows a man who dreams of becoming a singer while struggling to balance his ambitions with family responsibilities. Kishore plays the lead, with Subatra, George Mariyan and Harish Uththaman appearing in supporting roles.

Telugu Movie Releases

On the Telugu side, Om Shanti Shanti Shantihi is set to release as a comedy-drama directed by A R Sajeev. Starring Tharun Bhascker Dhaassyam, Eesha Rebba and Brahmaji, the film follows Prashanthi, who gives up her dreams for love and later finds herself in abusive relationships, first with her lecturer and then with her husband. After enduring trauma and personal loss, she escapes his control, rebuilds her life and takes a stand when the abuse reaches court.

The final notable release of the week is Trimukha, a crime suspense thriller directed by Razesh Naidu. The film stars Sunny Leone as CID officer Shivani Rathod, who investigates a serial killer case, while another team led by Yogi looks into a series of paranormal incidents. As both investigations progress, an unexpected connection between the cases begins to emerge.

Overall, the January 30 releases present a varied slate across languages, featuring films from genres such as psychological drama, crime and family drama.
