Acclaimed Indian actor Taha Shah Badussha attended the 79th EE BAFTA Film Awards in London, joining fellow Indian cinema names Alia Bhatt and Farhan Akhtar at one of the most prestigious evenings in global cinema.
The ceremony, held at London’s iconic Royal Festival Hall and hosted by Alan Cumming, celebrated excellence in international filmmaking and brought together artists and creators from across the world.
Taha Shah Badussha rose to widespread recognition for his portrayal of Tajdar in Heeramandi, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. The Netflix series emerged as a global cultural phenomenon, earning acclaim across markets and introducing international audiences to Taha’s layered screen presence.
He was most recently seen in Paro: The Untold Story of Bride Slavery, an Oscar-contended Hindi feature that brought attention to a pressing social issue, further establishing his inclination towards meaningful and globally resonant storytelling.
The evening marked a proud moment for Indian cinema, with Alia Bhatt presenting an award and Farhan Akhtar in attendance, reinforcing India’s growing presence on the global awards stage. In a significant milestone, the Manipuri-language film Boong, directed by Lakshmipriya Devi and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar under Excel Entertainment, won the Best Children’s and Family Film award.
