‘Superfakes’ Casts Bohan Phoenix, Michelle Jones Lee and Keith Leung


Bohan Phoenix, Michelle Jones Lee and Keith Leung have joined the cast of “Superfakes,” a crime drama from Peacock and A24, created by “Beef” writer Alice Ju and produced by the Safdie brothers.

Lucy Liu (“Kill Bill,” “Charlie’s Angels”) stars in the series as a “small-time Chinatown luxury counterfeit dealer who enters a dangerous black-market underworld in order to fund a life of suburban respectability for her family,” per the logline. “Industry” star Ken Leung will play her husband.

“Superfakes” is executive produced by Josh Safdie and Benny Safdie; Howard Klein and Olivia Gerke for 3 Arts; Ronald Bronstein, Eli Bush and Liu. The series hails from Emmy-winner Ju, whose writing and producing credits include “Beef” and “Poker Face.” A24 and UCP, a division of Universal Studio Group, also produce.

Phoenix is a Chinese American rapper making his acting debut in “Superfakes.” His music has been featured on Netflix, Disney, Comedy Central and “NBA 2K.” He released the album “Make You Proud” in 2024. He is repped by Luber Roklin Entertainment and Grandson Des Rochers.  

Lee is a Los Angeles-based actor raised in China and educated in London. She is part of the USC MFA class of 2025, and she also plays bass in a rock band. She is represented by Authentic Talent and Literary Management.

Leung is a Hong Kong native who graduated from NYU Tisch. His film “I, Chinese” received the jury prize at the DGA Student Film Awards. He is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners. 

“Superfakes” was announced in January 2025 with a series order from Peacock.
