“Paradise” Season 2 is filled with even more mystery. In the first full trailer for the Hulu series, Sterling K. Brown’s Xavier seemingly survives the plane crash and continues to search for his wife, alongside a new friend. Shailene Woodley, whose character has been kept mostly under wraps, appears in the new clip, asking Xavier if the bunker is real and what it’s like.
“It’s like before, only creepier,” he replies. “The longer we were down there, the more the seams began to show.”
The pair — her on a horse, him walking — are also shown on a journey, a voiceover of Brown saying, “Let’s go get my wife.”
Thomas Doherty’s character, a bike gang leader named Link, is also revealed — in one scene, he’s hugging Woodley; in another, he’s talking about the bunker: “There’s something that nobody knows about, something dangerous.”
Meanwhile, it appears that back at said bunker, Sinatra (Julianne Nicholson) and Jane (Nicole Brydon Bloom) are continuing to scheme while Gabriela (Sarah Shahi) starts asking some serious questions.
Per the Season 2 synopsis, “Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.”
Krys Marshall, Enuka Okuma, Aliyah Mastin, Percy Daggs IV and Charlie Evans also star, with James Marsden, Jon Beavers, Woodley and Doherty as guest stars.
“Paradise” is created and executive produced by Dan Fogelman. Executive producers include Brown, Jess Rosenthal, John Hoberg, Steve Beers, Glenn Ficarra and John Requa. 20th Television is the studio.
