SAN FRANCISCO — Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry will miss his third straight game Sunday night against the Indiana Pacers because of a lingering cold.

“He won’t play tonight,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said before the game. “But he’s gonna get a workout in and go on the trip. We’re hoping he’s able to play in Oklahoma City. (He’s) feeling better, but hasn’t done much of anything so we didn’t want to throw him out there tonight.”

Kerr said the plan is for Curry to get a workout in prior to Sunday’s game and another workout before the Warriors fly to Oklahoma City on Monday in advance of Tuesday’s game against the Thunder. Kerr was hopeful prior to Friday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets that Curry would be able to play on Sunday after noting that the star guard was feeling a little better, but Curry’s symptoms have not progressed to a point where the organization felt comfortable letting him play again.

Curry said last week he initially started feeling symptoms on the Warriors’ recent trip to Milwaukee and Indianapolis. With Curry out of the lineup, the Warriors have struggled to find a solid rhythm offensively, having lost their last two games without him. Kerr knows he has to find a way to fill in the gaps as best he can without Curry on the floor.

“I think spacing, pace, energy,” Kerr said, while discussing Friday’s loss to the Denver Nuggets. “It was one of our worst crash games of the year. We weren’t crashing the offensive glass. We weren’t sprinting back. It was kind of a low-energy game for us. And obviously, we’re playing one of the best teams in the league (in the Nuggets), and they took it to us right away. So we kind of got the air knocked out of us and didn’t respond very well. So tonight it’s important to bring a lot of energy and crash and sprint and play with more pace.”
