Mumbai, February 24th, 2026: Sony SAB’s mythological saga Gatha Shiv Parivaar Ki – Ganesh Kartikey moves into the powerful story of the union of Lord Shiva (Avinesh Rekhi) and Sati (Shrenu Parikh). Sati, born as the daughter of Daksha Prajapati, was the first earthly form of Adi Shakti and was destined to marry Lord Shiva. Together, they represent the powerful bond of Shiva and Shakti – consciousness and energy.
For Shrenu, portraying Sati in Ganesh Kartikey was a transformative journey that demanded deep internal preparation, spiritual connection and artistic discipline. Before approaching Sati as a divine figure, Shrenu chose to understand her as a woman – a devoted daughter, a loving wife to Lord Shiva, and a symbol of unwavering faith. Rather than playing her with distant divinity, Shrenu worked on finding the emotional truth within Sati’s story – her innocence, her strength, and the quiet resolve that defines her ultimate sacrifice.
Shrenu Parikh, who essays the role of Sati, shared, [AC1.1]”Stepping into the role of Sati required embodying faith, grace and emotional strength. I spent time breaking down Sati’s journey: her devotion to Lord Shiva, her inner conflict during Daksha’s yajna, and the turmoil that leads to one of mythology’s most poignant moments. For me, it is essential that audiences connect with Sati’s heart before they revere her as a goddess.”
She further added, “The visual transformation is equally demanding. I must drape elaborate costumes, temple jewellery, and detailed makeup, which lead to long preparation hours before an equally long shoot day. Maintaining a graceful body language while carrying heavy costumes requires physical stamina and discipline. In bringing Sati to life, I I surrendered to the spirit of the character, allowing faith and emotion to guide my portrayal on screen.”
Tune in to watch Ganesh Kartikey, every Monday to Saturday at 9:30 PM, only on Sony SAB
