Savannah Guthrie Posts New Message About Mom Nancy’s Disappearance

Savannah Guthrie posted a new video on Sunday saying she and her family “still have hope” that they will find her missing mom, Nancy Guthrie, and made a plea to anyone who knows something about what happened to her to come forward.

“It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope,” the Today host said of her and her family in a video posted on Instagram. “And we still believe.”

She also begged for whomever might have information to come forward and share that.

“I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is, it’s never too late,” she continued. “And you’re not lost, or alone. And it is never too late to do the right thing. And we are here. We believe. And we believe in the essential goodness of every human being. And it’s never too late.”

Nancy, 84, was reported missing from her Tucson home on Feb. 1, after she didn’t show up at a friend’s house to watch a livestream of church service from Savannah’s New York church. A day later, local authorities said they believed she was abducted.

In the days since Nancy disappeared, Savannah and her siblings have released multiple video messages pleading for their mother’s return with at least one saying that they’d received a message from the alleged kidnapper and were willing to pay to bring her home.

The FBI said Thursday that they believe the man shown in the photos and videos released Tuesday is between 5’9″ and 5’10” with an average build and is wearing a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack. Authorities have also said her blood was found on the front porch.

On Friday, the Pima County sheriff said investigators had recovered DNA from gloves and other pieces of potential evidence. On Sunday, following DNA testing, the FBI said that a glove found about two miles from Nancy’s house appears to match those worn by a person in a mask who was seen outside her front door the night she vanished. The FBI said they received preliminary results Saturday and are now awaiting official confirmation.
