Savannah Guthrie, whose elderly mother, Nancy, is missing in Arizona, issued a very personal statement late Monday.
“We believe in prayer. we believe in voices raised in unison, in love, in hope. we believe in goodness. we believe in humanity. above all, we believe in Him,” the Today co-anchor captioned an image of the words “Please pray.”
She continued, “Thank you for lifting your prayers with ours for our beloved mom, our dearest Nancy, a woman of deep conviction, a good and faithful servant. raise your prayers with us and believe with us that she will be lifted by them in this very moment. we need you.”
Her post concluded, “He will keep in perfect peace those whose hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord,” which she described as “a verse of Isaiah for all time for all of us.”

“Bring her home,” Guthrie added.
Nancy Guthrie, 84, was last seen at about 9:45 p.m. Saturday, when her children left her at her home, located near East Skyline Drive and North Campbell Avenue in Tuscon. A church friend let them know the following day that Nancy had not attended church. After they were unable to locate her, they called in authorities.
They had not located her by Monday, when a public information officer for the Pima County Sheriff’s Department told Entertainment Weekly that Sheriff Chris Nanos believed Nancy had been abducted.
“Sheriff Nanos has stated that he believes a crime has been committed,” the PIO said. “At this point, investigators believe she was taken from the home against her will, possibly in the middle of the night. Taken against her will includes possible kidnapping or abduction.”
While speaking with reporters, Nanos explained that Nancy was without her medication and “couldn’t walk 50 yards by herself,” although her mind is “sharp as a tack.”

Savannah has previously spoken about her close relationship with her mother, whom she’s described as “strong.”
“She’s like hard, iron, granite strong,” she said on Today in May 2023. “We had some hard times when I was a child. We lost my dad suddenly and shockingly. And my mom was so strong, and set aside her own grief in many ways, just to be there and make sure we could all move forward together.”
At the time, Savannah said, “The greatest gift my mother gave me was faith and belief in God.”
