Salim Khan Health Updates: The family of veteran screenwriter Salim Khan has asked that no fresh information about Salim Khan’s health be released, after an earlier medical update from the treating doctor led to extensive coverage on news channels and websites.
The stance was communicated after Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai confirmed that Salim Khan had been admitted with a minor brain haemorrhage and placed on ventilator support, a statement that the family felt shared more about Salim Khan’s health than they were comfortable with at this stage.
A source close to the family told Variety India, “Health is a private matter. Ideally, no updates should be shared with the media and any communication should be left entirely to the family, if and when they choose to address fans and well-wishers.” The source said this reflected the collective view of the family.
The same source added that the family raised the issue directly with hospital officials, stating, “Salman and his family were displeased with the doctor’s public statement and have clearly conveyed to the authorities that they do not want any further details disclosed.” The concern was described as firm but respectful.
Lilavati Hospital, which often issues regular statements when well-known personalities are admitted, has agreed to respect the request regarding Salim Khan’s health and will not circulate more medical bulletins unless the family gives clear consent for any communication.
The source acknowledged curiosity about Salim Khan’s health, saying, “It can be understandable that there is immense public interest in Salim Saab’s well-being, but medical information is a confidential matter. The family wants to avoid any unnecessary speculation or media scrutiny surrounding Salim Khan’s condition,” stressing that privacy should remain central.
Before the family intervened, Dr Jalil Parkar had confirmed that Salim Khan experienced a minimal brain haemorrhage and underwent a medical procedure on Wednesday morning, and that Salim Khan stayed at Lilavati Hospital for continued treatment and monitoring by the medical team.
Salman Khan, the eldest child of Salim and Salma Khan, visited Lilavati Hospital to see Salim Khan, while relatives focused on supporting each other and asked that further discussion of Salim Khan’s health remain private and limited to what they decide to share.
