Saiyami Kher is preparing for a new phase on screen, stepping into a gentler, emotionally led character for Vikram Phadnis’ upcoming untitled social drama. After a run of physically intense parts, the project places feelings and inner conflict at the heart of Saiyami Kher’s performance.
Across recent years, Saiyami Kher has often portrayed characters built on endurance and strength, including a paraplegic sportsperson, a cop, a spy, and a fire brigade officer. These roles demanded stamina and control, helping shape Saiyami Kher’s image as a performer with grit and a strong on-screen presence.
Saiyami Kher explores a softer emotional space in new social drama
This time, the focus moves away from action and towards quiet emotion, as Saiyami Kher takes on a more fragile, inward-facing part in the social drama. Work in 8 A.M. Metro, Faadu, and Choked has already shown Saiyami Kher can handle delicate, layered writing, so the shift towards a softer role fits naturally.
Speaking about the role, Saiyami says, “I’ve played characters that are physically very demanding for a long time, and those roles have shaped me a lot as an actor. This film is very different. It’s softer, more emotional, and relies heavily on internal journeys rather than external action. That was what attracted me to it. Sometimes portraying vulnerability is far more challenging, and I was keen to explore that space again.”
Saiyami Kher underlines versatility with emotional social drama choice
With this collaboration, Saiyami Kher adds another shade to an already varied filmography, proving comfort with both power and quietness on screen. The social drama highlights how Saiyami Kher balances strength, silence, and sensitivity, bringing an honest, committed approach to every character chosen.
