Rishab Shetty Embarks On Spiritual Journey As Jai Hanuman Muhurat Takes Place At Hanuman’s Birthplace

National Award-winning actor and director Rishab Shetty has begun work on Jai Hanuman with a traditional muhurat pooja held at the birthplace of Lord Hanuman, formally launching the next film in the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe and giving the project an explicitly spiritual beginning rooted in a key religious site.

The ceremony took place after the huge success of Kantara, which turned Rishab Shetty into a recognised figure for stories based on Indian traditions, and the team treated the start of Jai Hanuman as both a film launch and a devotional gathering dedicated to Lord Hanuman and Lord Rama.

Jai Hanuman muhurat links spiritual devotion with cinematic vision

Rishab Shetty has built a career around scripts that draw on folk practices, local beliefs and spiritual strength, and Jai Hanuman is planned as a continuation of this approach, with the film being framed as a tribute to devotion and courage rather than just another large-scale action-driven release.

Speaking with journalists at the event, Rishab Shetty explained how personally important the location and ceremony were. “I initially expressed my wish to the producer and director to hold the muhurat at the birthplace of Lord Hanuman. Today, the entire team has gathered here to seek his blessings, and we are happy and fortunate that it could take place at this sacred place. Jai Hanuman was announced even before the release of Kantara Chapter 1, and I view this as a rare chance to serve through film. This will be a divine movie and an opportunity to show our devotion on screen. Director Prasanth Varma has created a powerful story, and I believe that devotees and followers of Lord Rama and Hanuman will experience it with a deep sense of faith,” he said.

Jai Hanuman muhurat at Lord Hanuman’s birthplace shapes production

Rishab Shetty had specifically asked that the muhurat be organised at Lord Hanuman’s birthplace, believing that starting work there would align the production with the faith-based subject, and director Prasanth Varma is expected to match this intent by combining intense storytelling with a strong spiritual tone throughout the film.

With Jai Hanuman now formally underway inside the Prasanth Varma Cinematic Universe, the collaboration between Rishab Shetty and Prasanth Varma is set to focus on presenting Lord Hanuman’s legacy with visual scale and cultural detail, while continuing Rishab Shetty’s image as a consistent supporter of Indian heritage on screen.
