R&B singer Ray J arrested after altercation captured on livestream

Ray J was arrested in Los Angeles early Thanksgiving morning, according to jail records.

The 44-year-old R&B singer, whose legal name is Willie Norwood, was taken into custody around 4 a.m., booked around 6:30 a.m., and subsequently released on a $50,000 bail bond, according to records reviewed by Entertainment Weekly.

Capt. Mike Bland of the Los Angeles Police Department told the Los Angeles Times that Norwood was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats. An LAPD spokesperson told EW on Friday that he did not have any further information to provide.

Norwood’s arrest came after he and his estranged wife, Princess Love, were seen arguing during a livestream. Video from the livestream shared on social media shows Love accusing Norwood of pointing a gun at her, and him accusing her of wanting to “drive drunk.”

EW has reached out to representatives for Norwood and Love for comment.

Norwood and Love married in 2016 and have filed for divorce four times. They share two children: daughter Melody Love, 7, and son Epik Ray, 5.
