Ranveer Singh, Rohit Shetty’s Managers Questioned By Mumbai Police In Threat E-Mail & Firing Case

Mumbai Police have questioned the managers of filmmaker Rohit Shetty and actor Ranveer Singh after four shots were fired outside Shetty’s Juhu home. The Crime Branch is checking suspected links to organised crime, while film unions warn that repeated threats are disturbing work across Mumbai’s entertainment industry.

Growing concern within Bollywood has pushed the Federation of Western India Cine Employees to seek an urgent meeting with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. FWICE flagged how repeated threats and security scares are impacting daily operations across sets, studios and outdoor locations, with producers and crews now reworking schedules.

“The prevailing environment of fear is beginning to affect shooting schedules, production planning, and overall morale within the industry,” FWICE wrote, mentioning that uncertainty is now hindering routine functioning across sets and studios. The union said crew members feel uneasy, and many productions are introducing extra safety checks on their own.

FWICE’s letter referred to recent messages allegedly sent to actors and producers, including an email to Aayush Sharma, who is married to Salman Khan’s sister Arpita Khan. The message reportedly came from someone claiming links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, adding to anxiety around celebrity security in Mumbai.

“We firmly believe that under your able leadership and guidance, effective measures can be undertaken to address these concerns promptly and decisively,” seeking an opportunity to discuss the matter in detail and urge the government’s intervention to safeguard the entertainment fraternity. FWICE has asked for stronger, visible security for shoots and prominent personalities.

Earlier this month, four rounds were fired outside Rohit Shetty’s residential tower in Juhu, according to officers. Police and forensic teams reached the building soon after, examined the entry area and collected samples. A heavy security ring was then placed around the tower, and no injuries were reported in the incident.

The Crime Branch has recreated the firing sequence to cross-check statements and technical evidence. Investigators transported a scooter from Pune to Mumbai, mirroring the alleged route taken by suspects. Officers retraced each stage of the journey, hoping to confirm timings, spot CCTV gaps and uncover fresh leads.

As part of the same investigation, the managers of Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty have now given statements to Mumbai Police. Officers are looking at communication records, recent professional dealings and any contact with the accused. Police sources say every possible angle is being explored, with links to gangs also under scrutiny.

Five people have been arrested in connection with the firing outside Shetty’s Juhu residence and presented before a special Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act court. The court has sent all five to police custody until February 17, while investigators continue to question witnesses and verify each suspect’s exact role.

The case around the firing at Rohit Shetty’s home, the questioning of Ranveer Singh and Rohit Shetty’s managers, and the threat email to Aayush Sharma has deepened concern within Bollywood. Police action, FWICE’s intervention and the planned meeting with Devendra Fadnavis show the industry is seeking stronger, long-term security measures.
