PM Modi Hits 100 Million Followers On Instagram: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has crossed 100 million followers on Instagram, becoming the first world leader and politician to reach the milestone on the platform. As per the report by NDTV on February 26, this highlights the Prime Minister’s digital presence more than a decade after he joined the photo-sharing application in 2014.

Over the years, his account has featured posts related to official engagements, foreign visits, public programmes, and interactions with citizens. The platform has also carried images from cultural events and personal reflections, offering a mix of governance updates and public outreach content.

With this milestone, PM Modi now ranks ahead of other global leaders on Instagram. According to NDTV, US President Donald Trump holds the second position with approximately 43.2 million followers. He is followed by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto with around 15 million followers, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva with 14.4 million, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan with 11.6 million, and Argentine President Javier Milei with about 6.4 million followers.

From Social Media Milestone To Israel’s Knesset Medal

Within India’s political landscape as well, the Prime Minister’s following is significantly higher than that of other leaders. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has 16 million followers on Instagram, while Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has approximately 12.6 million, as cited in the report.

Separately, a report published by The Times of India on February 25 stated that Prime Minister Modi was conferred the “Speaker of the Knesset Medal” during his address to Israel’s parliament. He is the first Indian Prime Minister to receive the honour, which is the highest distinction awarded by the Knesset. The recognition was given in acknowledgement of his role in strengthening strategic ties between India and Israel.

Following the ceremony, the Prime Minister posted on social media expressing gratitude for the award, describing it as a reflection of the enduring friendship between the two nations. He is among the few international leaders to have received top civilian honours from both Israel and Palestine, having been awarded the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine in 2018.
