Prakambanam Box Office Collection: Prakambanam, starring Ganapathi and Sagar Surya in key roles, has completed its first three days at the Indian box office and entered Day 4 of its theatrical run on February 2. The Malayalam campus-based comedy drama, which released in cinemas on January 30, 2026, has shown noticeable growth over its opening weekend, driven largely by improved weekend footfalls.

According to early estimates reported by box office tracking website Sacnilk, Prakambanam has earned approximately ₹2.79 crore net in India in its first three days. The film opened with a modest ₹0.38 crore on its first Friday, followed by a sharp rise on Saturday, collecting around ₹0.9 crore. The upward trend continued on Sunday, with the film earning an estimated ₹1.51 crore, based on rough early data. The strong Sunday jump contributed significantly to the film’s opening weekend total.

Prakambanam: Plot Overview, Supporting Cast, and Crew

Directed by Vijesh Panathur, Prakambanam appears to have benefitted from positive weekend occupancy levels. While weekday performance will be crucial going forward, the weekend growth indicates initial audience interest, particularly among younger viewers.

Set largely in an Ernakulam college hostel, the film revolves around the lives of three close friends navigating student politics, everyday pranks, and hostel life. What begins as a light-hearted depiction of campus culture takes an unexpected turn when an unforeseen incident disrupts their routine, leading to a series of chaotic and comedic situations. The narrative blends humour with situational drama, anchoring itself in familiar college-life settings.

Alongside Ganapathi and Sagar Surya, the film features Ameen, Rajesh Madhavan, Sheethal Joseph, Kalabhavan Navas, P P Kunhi Krishnan, and Azeez Nedumangad in supporting roles. The film is produced by Sreejith KS, Karthikeyan S, and Sudheesh N under the banner of Navarasa Films, in association with Stone Bench Studio.

The technical crew includes cinematographer Alby Antony and editor Sooraj E S. Music for the film has been composed by Bibin Ashok, with background score by Sankar Sharma. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Sreehari Vadakkan, while sound design is handled by Kishan Mohan, with final mixing by M R Rajakrishnan.

As of February 2, Prakambanam has completed its opening weekend and entered Day 4 in theatres. The film’s box office trajectory in the coming weekdays will depend on how well it holds during working days, as well as competition from other new releases. With ₹2.79 crore already collected in three days, its weekday performance will play a key role in shaping its short-term theatrical run.
