I can’t believe it, but we somehow made it to 2026. And thankfully — amid the chaos that’s already got us swirling just a week into the new year — there’s a lot to look forward to. After this week’s Traitors premiere, I can’t wait for more episodes; the buzz about The Pitt season 2 has me incredibly excited; and then there’s the upcoming 50th season of Survivor (which we just commemorated with a trio of exclusives, including a cover story, photos, and video). In what RuPaul recently called “shady times,” I hope you’re finding the light too. —Patrick Gomez, Editor-in-Chief

People We Meet on Vacation
Michele K. Short/Netflix
The first adaptation of an Emily Henry novel is here to start the year on a romantic note. Emily Bader (My Lady Jane) and Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes) play Poppy and Alex, two close friends who take yearly trips to new places together — platonically, of course. Book fans will notice several changes to the plot and locales in the movie (streaming on Netflix), but the story remains an enjoyable, bubbly rom-com. Bader especially shines as an extroverted, free-spirited travel journalist, while Molly Shannon and Alan Ruck fully utilize their limited screen time as Poppy’s eccentric parents. —Tiffany Kelly, Staff Editor
