A new state-of-the-art movie theater that seats up to 100 has opened at the West Los Angeles headquarters of Penske Media Corporation, Variety‘s parent company.
The movie theater is equipped with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision technologies and is available for premieres, screenings and events.
Nelson Anderson, SVP of creative, worked closely with the Dolby team. “Their engineering team has been putting this together for for that immersive sound experience.,” he said. With a 43-speaker system in place, the screening room “has the most channels available, so that when you’re in the theater, you you really do have that 360-degree sound. You’ll actually hear and experience things all around you.”
The Los Angeles-based company RIOS oversaw the interior design of the theater and concession area.

Anderson also stressed how the new screening room raises the bar for those who live in the West Los Angeles area. “We wanted to make it so that filmmakers or people that are more West L.A. don’t have to go all the way into Hollywood to have a state-of-the-art experience.” He went on to say, “With the overall fit and finish of our new office space, we wanted to have the theater reflect the elegance and the the high performance of everything else in the building.”
The space also includes an elegant bar and concession space as well as a third floor amenity deck that can be used as an additional entertaining space for events. The third floor deck can also be used for a pre or post film activation deck experience.
