Parasakthi OTT Release Date: When And Where To Watch Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa & Sreeleela Film

Parasakthi OTT Release: Parasakthi, a Tamil political action drama, has moved into its post-theatrical phase following its cinema release during the Pongal festive window. Written and directed by Sudha Kongara, the film hit theatres on January 10, 2026, and is set primarily in the late 1950s and early 1960s, a period marked by intense political and cultural debates in Tamil Nadu. Produced by Aakash Bhaskaran under the Dawn Pictures banner, the film brings together historical context and personal conflict within a politically charged narrative.

The film stars Sivakarthikeyan in the lead role, alongside Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa and Sreeleela, who makes her Tamil debut with this project. The supporting cast includes Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Guru Somasundaram, Basil Joseph and Papri Ghosh. The story centres on two brothers whose lives become intertwined with the anti-Hindi imposition movement that gained momentum in the Madras State during the late 1950s.

Story, Technical Team And OTT Update

Set in 1959, Parasakthi follows Chezhiyan, a former leader of a radical student organisation, and his younger brother Chinnadurai, an engineering student who initially remains distant from political activism. As social barriers and everyday challenges faced by ordinary citizens become increasingly evident, Chinnadurai finds himself drawn into the movement his brother has consciously stepped away from. Running parallel to their journey is the presence of an intelligence officer closely monitoring the group’s activities. As their paths cross, the film explores questions of language, identity and self-respect set against the politics of the time.

On the technical front, the film features music composed by G. V. Prakash Kumar, cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran and editing by Sathish Suriya. The production team includes Milind Rau as second unit director and post-production head, with action sequences choreographed by Supreme Sundar. Lyrics are contributed by Yugabharathi, Ekadesi, Arivu, Kaber Vasuki and Jayashree Mathimaran, while Madhan Karky and Shan Karuppusamy have written additional dialogues.

While Parasakthi continues to be discussed in the context of its theatrical run, attention has now turned to its digital release. According to recent reports, the film is expected to begin streaming on ZEE5 from February 7, although an official confirmation from the makers or the platform is still awaited.

With its upcoming OTT debut, Parasakthi is likely to reach audiences who may have missed it in cinemas or prefer to watch the film at home. The transition to streaming marks the next stage in the film’s release journey, allowing wider access while it continues to be part of discussions around cinema rooted in historical and political contexts.
