Orlando Bloom is raising eyebrows after snapping a seemingly innocuous Halloween photo.
While attending a costume party on Halloween, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor posed for a picture with Happy Death Day actress Rachel Lynn Matthews. But once the photo hit social media, fans were quick to point out that Matthews was dressed as Bloom’s ex fiancée, Katy Perry.
While the 48-year-old actor was sporting a skeleton costume, complete with face paint, Matthews was decked out in a black wig and blue jumpsuit, reminiscent of Perry’s outfit during her excursion to space.
The pop star was among the six women who went to space aboard billionaire Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin rocket in April, a trip many commentators, including some fellow celebrities, criticized as gluttonous and wasteful. Poking fun at the trip with her costume, Matthews shared another photo recreating the infamous moment where Perry kissed the ground after returning from the controversial 11-minute flight to the edge of space.

“Take up space,” Matthews captioned the photo. As both photos were shared to the actress’ Instagram Stories, they have since expired — but that hasn’t stopped social media users from pointing out the Perry connection or speculating that Matthews and Bloom are in a relationship.
The Halloween photos come three months after the actor and Perry announced their split. The couple spent nine years together and share daughter Daisy, whom they welcomed in 2020.
Bloom and Perry initially confirmed reports of their breakup in a joint statement shared with Entertainment Weekly in July. “Representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting,” the statement from their reps began. “They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability, and mutual respect.”
Bloom later addressed the end of their relationship while promoting The Cut with a September visit to the Today show, telling reporters that there’s “nothing but love” between him and Perry.

“I’m so grateful,” Bloom added. “We have the most beautiful daughter. You know, when you leave everything on the field, like I did in this movie, I feel grateful for all of it.”
As for Perry, November marked the release of her new single, “Bandaids,” which alludes to her split from Bloom. The song laments the fallout of a relationship with lyrics like, “Got so used to you letting me down / No use trying to send flowers now / Telling myself you’ll change you don’t / Bandaids over a broken heart.”
