The NFL’s conference championship matchups are taking shape after another intense day of playoff football.
The Denver Broncos were first to punch their ticket by beating the Buffalo Bills 33-30 in overtime on Saturday. Bills quarterback Josh Allen lost two fumbles and threw two interceptions, but Buffalo was still able to battle back from a 13-point deficit to force the extra period. Two pass interference calls against the Bills set up Broncos kicker Wil Lutz with a 23-yard field goal to seal the win.
It will be the Broncos’ first appearance in the AFC Championship Game since 2015. They will host the winner of Sunday’s game between the No. 5 Houston Texans and No. 2 New England Patriots (3 p.m. ET, ABC/ESPN).
In the NFC, the Seattle Seahawks dominated the San Francisco 49ers in a 41-6 win. Seattle was hot right out of the gate with Rashid Shaheed returning the kickoff 95 yards for a touchdown. Running back Kenneth Walker had a career day, rushing for 116 yards and three touchdowns. And Seattle’s defense once again shined, holding the 49ers to a pair of field goals two weeks after holding them to just one field goal in a Week 18 showdown that clinched the top seed.
The Seahawks, who are making their first conference championship appearance since 2014, will play the winner of Sunday’s divisional round finale between the No. 5 Los Angeles Rams and the No. 2 Chicago Bears (6:30 p.m. ET, NBC).
Both conference championship games will be played on Sunday, Jan. 25. The winners will face off in Super Bowl LX on Sunday, Feb. 8, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
