Meet the cast of the ‘Fear Factor’ reboot hosted by Johnny Knoxville (exclusive)

Fear Factor is back — with a Big Brother-y twist.

Entertainment Weekly can exclusively premiere the first trailer for Fear Factor: House of Fear, the new iteration of the skin-crawling reality competition series hosted by Johnny Knoxville.

“It’s Fear Factor on steroids,” one contestant says in the trailer. 

“What did I get myself into?” another player asks.

Like the original NBC series and its subsequent MTV reboot, the new Fear Factor pits contestants against one another in a competition of terrifying stunts and nasty challenges that put both bravery and gag reflexes to the test. However, House of Fear adds a new dimension to the competition: the players all live together for the duration of the season, voting to eliminate one player from the pool at a time.

“It’s a hater mentality,” one contestant says as she seemingly faces elimination and calls out another player who votes for her exit. “His daughter will see him go after women the way he has in this house.”

“I need to see a therapist at this point, you driving me crazy,” a contestant declares.

The series will feature a number of hair-raising challenges that would nicely fit into Knoxville’s Jackass universe. We see glimpses of players being dragged by a horse pulling a rope, walking between two moving semitrucks, struggling to escape massive vacuum-sealed bags, getting buried alive in concrete, balancing on a sky-high narrow beam while blindfolded, and, of course, coming face-to-face with tons of creepy-crawlies.

“The lengths we’ll go just to make someone piss themself,” Knoxville says joyfully at the end of the trailer.

Fear Factor: House of Fear premieres Jan. 14 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on Fox. Meet the 14 players competing to win the $200,000 prize below.
