Masthishka Maranam Box Office Collection: The Malayalam comedy sci-fi thriller Masthishka Maranam (A Frankenbiting of Simon’s Memories), featuring Rajisha Vijayan and Divya Prabha, has concluded its first weekend in theatres. The film, which hit cinemas on February 27, has completed three days of its theatrical run, and as of March 2 (Day 4), early estimates indicate that it has collected ₹1.44 crore (India net).
According to box office tracking platform Sacnilk, the film opened with ₹0.38 crore on its first day (Friday). Collections improved on Saturday, with the film earning ₹0.55 crore, reflecting a jump of around 44 per cent compared to Day 1. On Sunday, the film registered approximately ₹0.51 crore, as per rough figures, marking a slight dip from Saturday’s numbers. The three-day total now stands at ₹1.44 crore India net.
With Monday’s shows underway, the film has entered its first weekday cycle. The weekday trend is expected to offer further clarity on how the film performs beyond its initial weekend in Kerala and other centres where it has been released.
Storyline, Cast And Crew Details Of Masthishka Maranam
Directed by Krishand, Masthishka Maranam blends elements of comedy and science fiction within a thriller framework. The story centres on a grieving father who becomes immersed in a virtual reality-based memory game. As he navigates this digital reconstruction of the past, he uncovers unsettling revelations connected to his lifelong idol, a globally celebrated superstar named Frida Soman.
Apart from Rajisha Vijayan and Divya Prabha, the cast includes Niranj Maniyanpilla Raju, Rahul Rajagopal, Jagadish, Suresh Krishna, Nandhu, Zhinz Shan, Ann Saleem and Jain Andrews in supporting roles.
The film is produced under the banner Ajith Vinayaka Films. Krishand has also handled the screenplay and dialogues. Cinematography is by Prayag Mukundan, while editing duties have been overseen by the director himself. The music and sound design are composed by Varkey, with lyrics penned by Vinayak Sasikumar and Vaisakh Sugunan.
