For the uninitiated, two Malayali youths were injured in Thiruvananthapuram city on Thursday (February 5, 2026) night, after Maniyanpilla Raju’s car knocked down their motorcycle.
Maniyanpilla Raju Gets A Bail In Hit And Run Case
The Thiruvananthapuram city police recorded the arrest of actor Maniyanpilla Raju on Friday (February 6, 2026). The actor’s arrest was formally recorded after he appeared at the Museum police station around 9.30 AM, almost 12 hours after the accident took place. Raju was later released on station bail, and was taken to the General Hospital, Thiruvananthapuram, for a medical examination.
The official statement from the Thiruvananthapuram Museum police suggests that the accident took place around 10 p.m. Maniyanpilla Raju was reportedly leaving the Trivandrum club after attending a programme. The injured have been identified as Sooraj from Sreekandeswaram, and Nivedith Krishna from of Sreevaraham, and both of them are 20 years old.
Maniyanpilla Raju Confirms He Was Not Drunk
Later in an interaction with the media, Maniyanpilla Raju admitted that it was wrong to leave the accident scene after hitting the youngsters. According to the actor, he panicked after realising what happened, and left the scene in hurry. However, Raju confirmed that he was not drunk at the time of the accident. According to the Thudarum actor, he had stopped drinking completely after he was diagnosed with cancer.
