Manchester United consider McTominay return

According to Fichajes, Manchester United are considering a move to bring Scott McTominay back to Old Trafford from Napoli, and the Serie A champions are open to the idea of cashing in on his services. The figure of €80million is mentioned as a potential fee.

McTominay made the move from United to Napoli in 2024, for just over €30million, which, along with the fact that he’ll turn 30 in December, seems to be enough to justify the willingness of the Italian club to sell one of their key players for €50million more.

McTominay has so far made a total of 70 appearances across all competitions for Napoli, scoring 23 goals and assisting 10 more from his position in the middle of the park. He was absolutely vital in their Scudetto-winning 2024-25 campaign, where they edged out Inter Milan by a single point.

United’s apparent desire to re-sign a player they once sold as surplus to requirements seems strange, but Casemiro set to leave at the end of the season, they will undoubtedly need to add some experience to their midfield ranks ahead of 2026-27.
