Luis Enrique has urged his Paris Saint-Germain side “to be more precise” in front of goal as they look to regain confidence in their fight to retain their Ligue 1 and Champions League titles.
PSG defeated Le Havre 1-0 on Saturday to move four points clear of Lens at the Ligue 1 summit, though they were far from their clinical best at the Stade Oceane.
The Parisians produced 3.88 xG from nine shots, but only Bradley Barcola managed to score, with Desire Doue seeing a late penalty saved by Mory Diaw.
PSG have now failed to convert half of their penalties across all competitions this season (5/10), including their three most recent ones (Ousmane Dembele versus Newcastle United, Vitinha against Monaco, Doue versus Le Havre).
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia failed to find the back of the net from his match-high seven shots, while Nuno Mendes, Lee Kang-in and Ibrahim Mbaye all missed good opportunities to score.
Luis Enrique believes his players need to regain confidence sooner rather than later, in order to complete their objectives of winning Ligue 1 and the Champions League.
The Spaniard told Ligue 1+: “It was difficult because I think the result clearly reflects what happened.

“We deserved this victory. We missed a lot of chances, including a penalty, but the result represents what we deserved.
“To score more goals, you have to be more precise. It’s part of a coach’s life to suffer. We suffered last season too.
“We deserved more. We want the players to regain their confidence, but it’s not easy.
“What I can say about this team in terms of how they defend and attack isn’t a question of attitude; it’s been incredible since day one.
“They just need to be more precise. That’s the key part of the season; we have to win Ligue 1 and go far in the Champions League – that’s the objective.”
PSG host Monaco in their next Ligue 1 match before taking on Chelsea in the last 16 of the Champions League.
