MELBOURNE, Australia β€” Lorenzo Musetti retired injured with a two-set lead over Novak Djokovic during the Australian Open quarterfinals.

The Italian No. 5 seed led 6-4, 6-3 in a dominant display before pulling up with an injury to his upper right leg early in the third set.

Djokovic, who had put in a listless performance hampered by blisters, stretched out on the side as Musetti received a medical timeout.

He tried to play on, but after two games in which he could barely move, he was forced to shake hands with the 10-time champion.

Djokovic moves into the semifinals, to face Lorenzo Musetti or Ben Shelton.

This is a developing story and will be updated.
