Liverpool will not pay £50m for Mateus Mane

Liverpool will not pay £50m million to sign Mateus Mane from Premier League rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. Manchester United are also interested in Mane, who is valued at £50m by his club.

While Wolves do not want to sell Mane and are determined to keep him even if they get relegated to the Championship, they value the 18-year-old forward at £50m. Both Liverpool and Man Utd believe that it is too high a transfer fee to pay for the teenager.

Wolves are at the foot of the Premier League table at the moment with 10 points from 28 matches, as many as 17 points behind 17th-placed Nottingham Forest. Mane has scored two goals and given one assist in 11 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Wolves so far this season.
