Tampa Bay Lightning forward Brayden Point was helped off the ice by a trainer and teammate Nikita Kucherov after Philadelphia Flyers defenceman Cam York appeared to fall on Point’s knee during the second period of Monday night’s game in Philadelphia.

Per the Lightning, Point won’t return to the game.

Point, 29, was one of the first six players named to Team Canada’s Olympic roster ahead of next month’s Games in Milan-Cortina. The forward was also part of Canada’s winning roster at the 4 Nations Face-Off last February. The Calgary native and two-time Stanley Cup champion has 10 goals and 29 points in 36 games with the Lightning this season.

If Point’s injury is serious enough to take him out of next month’s Games, a handful of Canadian forwards will be considered to replace him. Notable snubs up front included Sam Bennett, Travis Konecny, Seth Jarvis, Connor Bedard, Wyatt Johnston and Mark Scheifele.
