The Sacramento Kings’ three-time All-Star, Domantas Sabonis, will be reevaluated in three to four weeks after suffering a partial tear in his left meniscus, team and league sources confirmed to The Athletic.

Sabonis, 29, will not require surgery, sources said. But the Kings are closely monitoring the situation and will determine appropriate next steps for Sabonis at the end of the evaluation period.

Sabonis is averaging 17.2 points and 12.3 rebounds this season. Sacramento has gotten off to a slow start and must now navigate a prolonged stretch without one of its anchors. The Kings were 3-12 entering Thursday night’s road game against the Memphis Grizzlies. Sacramento ranks in the bottom third of the league in both offensive and defensive rating.

Sacramento started eighth-year forward Drew Eubanks in Sabonis’ place in Wednesday’s road loss to the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder.

ESPN was first to report Sabonis’ timeline.
