Jimmy Kimmel was less than pleased with President Donald Trump’s State of the Union address.
The late-night host ripped into Trump’s “angry” speech and gave his own interpretation of the current state of the nation on Tuesday’s episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live.
“It was angry, right? It was an angry speech,” Kimmel asked the audience. “The theme of tonight’s speech was ‘All Foreigners are Murderers.’ Trump said zero illegal aliens had been allowed into the United States on his watch, but the door is always open to those who come in to be his next wife, so that’s something.”

The comedian also noted that Trump “bragged about ending DEI” as well as “kicking two million people off food stamps,” before comparing the speech to a “Christmas message from the Grinch.”
He also questioned whether Trump’s lengthy remarks could even be considered an address at all. “When you ramble mostly incoherently for two hours, is that technically still a speech or at some point does it become a conniption fit?” he asked.
Kimmel then imparted the “real state of the union” to his viewers.
“We have a nut job, wannabe king who’s doing everything he can to censor opinions he doesn’t want to hear,” he began. “He has his goons arresting, incarcerating, and killing American citizens. He’s gut funding for cancer research and children’s hospitals, while he rakes in literally billions of dollars for himself and his family.”
He also claimed that the Trump administration is “coming after our right to vote” in future elections.

“He’s protecting pedophiles and won’t explain it. He’s lining the pockets of billionaires all while neglecting the sick, the poor, the hungry,” Kimmel said. “In the name of Jesus, by the way, who you can read all about in a Donald Trump edition of the God Bless the U.S.A. Bible that is made in China and available for $99.99. That is the State of the Union.”
Trump’s speech on Tuesday beat the record for longest annual address — an achievement previously held by him — at 107 minutes. During his speech, which contained multiple false claims, the Republican politician spoke about the economy, his tariffs (which have been deemed illegal by the Supreme Court), healthcare, and foreign policy.
His address also saw him applaud multiple Americans, including the U.S. men’s hockey team following their gold medal win at the 2026 Olympics. Despite its length, Trump made no mention of the Epstein files during his speech.
