It’s Not too Late to Return Nancy

Savannah Guthrie took to Instagram on Sunday afternoon to share another message with her mother’s kidnapper. She calmly told the perpetrator that it’s “never too late to do the right thing.”

“It’s been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say that we still have hope and we still believe,” she said. “And I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is, that it’s never too late, and you’re not lost or alone, and it is never too late to do the right thing.”

Nancy Guthrie went missing on Feb. 1, and the following day, the Pima County Sheriff’s department declared her disappearance a crime after finding “concerning” evidence at her Arizona residence. On Friday night, authorities said that investigators were searching Nancy Guthrie’s home and the surrounding area for clues.

On Thursday, the FBI announced it raised the reward to $100,000 for anyone with information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie. The agency also released identifying details about the suspect caught on camera trying to break into Nancy Guthrie’s home. The possible kidnapper was described as “a male, approximately 5’9” – 5’10” tall, with an average build. In the video, he is wearing a black, 25-liter ‘Ozark Trail Hiker Pack’ backpack.”

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday detained a person for questioning in connection with the case. Authorities told ABC News that they were preparing to search a location in connection with the detainee. However, the individual was later released.

Savannah Guthrie has posted several videos on Instagram in hopes of rallying help for her mother. On Feb. 9, she posted a video pleading with her supporters to aid in the search.

“We believe our mom is still out there,” Savannah Guthrie said in the video. “We need your help. Law enforcement is working tirelessly around the clock trying to bring her home — trying to find her. She was taken and we don’t know where. And we need your help.”
