Oliver Glasner believes that “it makes no sense” for Crystal Palace to throw away their Premier League season in search of Conference League glory.
The Eagles face Zrinjski in the second leg of their play-off tie on Thursday at Selhurst Park after the first leg ended 1-1 last week in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Palace have not lost any of their last three games in the Conference League (W1 D2), but they have won only one of their three home games in the competition (3-1 vs AZ Alkmaar, D1 L1).
The south London outfit, meanwhile, moved three points off the top eight in the Premier League with a late win over Wolves on Sunday.
Pressure has been reportedly growing at Selhurst Park, with Glasner’s job under scrutiny, but the Palace boss insisted their season is far from over.
When asked if Thursday’s match would be his final game in charge of the Eagles if they lost to Zrinjski, Glasner said: “I don’t know what happens.
“I know that we’ll try to win the game tomorrow. That’s what we can do. But on the other side, think about the Premier League.
“We’re three points behind eighth place, eighth place qualifies for Europe it looks like, with the five Champions League places again next year.
“So why throw the Premier League away? It makes no sense.”

The 1-1 draw in the first leg was the first European meeting between Palace and Zrinjski.
Bosnian sides have managed just one win across 11 European matches against English opposition (D3 L7): Velez Mostar defeated Derby County in the 1974-75 UEFA Cup (4-1).
Zrinjski have also lost all six away games in the Conference League (five away games and one game on neutral ground against Dynamo Kyiv) without scoring a single goal.
Only Lincoln Red Imps and Breidablik have played as many games away from home in the competition with a 100% defeat rate.
