Indian pop star King has unveiled the video for “Kamaal Hai,” a pop-dance collaboration with Warner Music India that serves as the lead single from his sixth studio album, set for release early next year.
The track, composed by King and Aditya Dev with lyrics by King, features actor Sahher Bambba, who recently appeared in “The Ba***ds of Bollywood.”
Director Lendrick Kumar helmed the music video, which was shot in Kochi. The cinematic visual blends action and comedy elements, starring King and Bambba alongside veteran actor Lilliput (M.M. Faruqui) in a stylized gangster setting featuring vintage automobiles and period aesthetics.
“‘Kamaal Hai’ marks the beginning of a new era for me, and I wanted the visuals to feel just as explosive as the song,” King said. “Working with Sahher Bambba and Lilliput sir was an absolute joy. They brought so much charm, timing, and personality to the world we were building. Most importantly, collaborating with Lendrick Kumar on the video was an incredible experience as his vision, pace, and treatment turned the track into this larger-than-life ride filled with dance, action, and humor.”
Bambba added: “Working on this song has been such a refreshing experience for me. The team, especially Lendrick, created a playful, supportive space that really allowed the performance to breathe. And with King’s easy, infectious energy on set, everything flowed even better. I’m truly thrilled with what we’ve created together.”
King, known for hits including “Maan Meri Jaan” and “Tu Jaana Na Piya,” became one of the first Indian artist to break into Spotify’s Global Top 25. He is scheduled to perform at the Music Head Festival in Itanagar on Nov. 22, with additional Indian dates to follow.
