Green Day Slams ICE Agents Ahead of Super Bowl Performance

Billie Joe Armstrong has a message for ICE agents.

The outspoken Green Day frontman had something to say about the controversy surrounding immigration enforcement ahead of the band’s pre-game performance at Sunday’s Super Bowl LX.

At a Friday concert in the San Francisco area, Armstrong declared, “This goes out to all the ICE agents out there. Wherever you are: quit your shitty-ass job. Quit that shitty job you have.” He added, “come on this side of the line.”

Armstrong elaborated that ICE agents should quit because high-profile Trump Administration figures ultimately won’t have their back when a presumed reckoning comes. “Because when this is over — and it will be over at some point in time — Kristi Noem, Stephen Miller, J.D. Vance, Donald Trump, they’re going to drop you like a bad fucking habit.”

A Green Day performance is part of the big game’s opening ceremony before the action kicks off in Santa Clara, California between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. The opening show gets underway at 3 p.m. PT on NBC and Peacock.

Green Day have long been vocal critics of the Trump Administration, and have previously changed the lyrics of their iconic hit “American Idiot” from “I’m not a part of a redneck agenda” to “I’m not a part of a MAGA agenda.”

The Super Bowl’s halftime show stars another Trump and ICE critic, Bad Bunny, who is expected to take the stage between 5 and 5:30 p.m. PT.
