Glen Powell was shocked to find out that a random pair of his used jeans went on to be worn by none other than Nick Jonas.
In an Instagram video posted Thursday, the “Gut Punch” singer revealed that he wore jeans previously sported by the Top Gun: Maverick actor during his performance on The Tonight Show on Wednesday.
“They didn’t wash these for you?!?” Powell commented in response. “I feel like the Brotherhood of the Traveling Pants should incorporate some sort of hygiene pact.”
To which Jonas replied, “I don’t know, it was giving dry cleaned.”
In his video, the Camp Rock star explained that he deduced his clothes had previously been worn by Powell after checking the pockets of his pants.
“In the past, there’s been times I’ve reached into the pocket and found various things from the last person that the brand lent that thing to,” he elaborated. “So I put these pants on that I’m wearing right here and I reached into the pocket and I’m like, ‘Oh there’s something in there.'”
Jonas then pulled out a plane ticket and showed it off to the camera. “I’m like, ‘Who could this plane ticket belong to?’ I open it up and, of course, it belongs to Glen Powell,” he continued. “Of all people, Glen Powell. My friend, Glen Powell. His plane ticket. He wore these before me.”
He jokingly added, “It’s the brotherhood of the traveling pants.”
Jonas was of course referencing the beloved Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants book series, which was penned by Ann Brashares and adapted into two coming-of-age films, in 2005 and 2008. As the title suggests, the books and films follow a group of teenage girls — played on screen by Alexis Bledel, America Ferrera, Blake Lively, and Amber Tamblyn — as they wear and share a magical pair of pants that fit them all on their various summertime adventures.
Jonas went on to wear the look while performing his new single “Gut Punch, off his recently released album Sunday Best. The 11-track album marks Jonas’ first new solo material since 2021’s Spaceman.

He described the album as his favorite record yet in a separate Instagram post. “I love this record,” Jonas said. “And the fact that you’re gonna get a window into my world, but it’s more about what connects us all and… yeah! I don’t know, I’m just thrilled.”
