Giannis Antetokounmpo posts message after Bucks elect not to trade him: ‘Legends don’t chase’

The trade deadline has come and gone and Giannis Antetokounmpo is still a member of the Milwaukee Bucks. And now that he is still officially on the team, both Antetokounmpo and the Bucks have taken to social media to react to the situation.

Twenty minutes after the deadline passed, Antetokounmpo made a post on Instagram (and later X) with the caption, “”Legends don’t chase. They attract “

The Instagram post featured a clip from the 2013 film “The Wolf of Wall Street,” in which Leonardo Dicaprio’s character, Jordan Belfort, loudly declares that he’s “not f—ing leaving” to a thrilled office of employees. It also feature a picture of Antetokounmpo’s oldest son, Liam, in a pair of sunglasses.

Meanwhile, four minutes after Antetokounmpo’s post, the Bucks also posted on their X account while featuring a clip from head coach Doc Rivers’ media session before this Tuesday’s game against the Chicago Bulls.

Rivers made those comments after the NBA announced that Antetokounmpo and his brothers, Alex and Thanasis, would be coaching ESPN reporter Shams Charania in this year’s All-Star Celebrity Game in Los Angeles.

“He did inform that he’s going to put Shams (Charania) on the trading block and then he’s just going to listen to offers,” Rivers said Tuesday while smiling.“So, I’m just gonna go make that announcement right now.”
