Actor and global artist Elnaaz Norouzi stood shoulder to shoulder with the Iranian diaspora at a massive protest in Munich, lending her voice to the growing global demand for freedom, dignity, and justice for the people of Iran.
The protest was called by Iran’s Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi and witnessed an unprecedented turnout, with over 250,000 people gathering peacefully in Munich, making it one of the largest demonstrations held outside the country.
Currently in Germany for the Berlinale film festival, Elnaaz travelled from Berlin to Munich specifically to participate in the protest and raise her voice against the atrocities that the Iranians are dealing with.
The demonstration was held on 14th February 2026, Valentine’s Day, a date traditionally associated with love, which for the Iranian diaspora took on a deeper meaning, transforming romantic symbolism into an expression of collective love, sacrifice, and resistance for those risking their lives inside Iran.
Sharing what the moment meant to her, Elnaaz said,
“I cannot even begin to explain how heavy this feels. We are seeing our loved ones suffer back home. Standing there in the protest, even for a few hours, felt like the least I could do, to let them know they are not forgotten and they are not alone.”
She added,
“This day is called Valentine’s Day, but for us it is about a different kind of love. It is love for our brothers and sisters who step onto the streets knowing they may never return. They risk their lives for freedom. So those of us outside Iran must raise our voices louder, safer, and stronger for them.”
Elnaaz also acknowledged the solidarity she has received from India, saying,
“I have received so many messages from people in India saying, ‘We stand with you, we stand with Iran.’ That support gives me strength on days like this. It reminds me that this is not only Iran’s fight, it is a human fight.”
Through her presence at the Munich protest, Elnaaz Norouzi continues to use her platform to amplify silenced voices and stand firmly with her people in their pursuit of freedom.
