Do Deewane Sehar Mein: Sandeepa Dhar Opens Up On Her Character Naina, Says ‘What Moved Me Was…’

In a world that applauds perfection but rarely pauses to ask how it feels, Sandeepa Dhar steps into one of her most emotionally layered roles yet. In Do Deewane Sehar Mein, she portrays Naina-a young woman admired for having it all together, yet silently battling the dissonance between who she appears to be and who she truly is. Beneath the polished smiles and effortless grace lies a story about identity, invisibility, and the quiet exhaustion of living up to expectations.

Speaking about her character, Sandeepa shares, “Naina is someone so many of us will recognize in ourselves. She’s the girl who smiles, who shows up, who carries herself like everything is under control. But inside, she feels disconnected – like she’s been performing a version of herself for so long that she’s forgotten who she really is. I think that’s a very real pressure today – to always look fine, even when you’re not.”

Reflecting on the emotional depth of the film, she adds, “What moved me most about Do Deewane Sehar Mein is how gently it talks about invisibility. Sometimes the more ‘perfect’ you appear, the harder it becomes to admit that something feels broken inside. Naina’s journey is about confronting the mirror and allowing herself to be honest – maybe for the first time.” Sandeepa says, “I hope people walk away asking themselves – who am I beyond what the world expects of me? And I hope they feel seen. Because behind every composed exterior, there’s a story we don’t always get to hear.”

With Do Deewane Sehar Mein set to release on 20th February, Sandeepa Dhar invites audiences to look beyond the surface – to question the masks we wear and the mirrors we avoid. In telling Naina’s story, she holds up a reflection many may recognize, and perhaps, finally feel understood by.
